The best way to fix scratches on engineered hardwood floors is to use a wax repair kit. Almost all hardware stores and home improvement stores have this material in stock.

This approach is suitable for both real wood and engineered real wood flooring repairs using a repair putty or wax filler mixed to match the color of surrounding floor. A complete sanding removes scratches but beware. Slightly sand the floor using your sandpaper taking heed not to go too deep or to sand areas without scratches. The wood veneer covering your engineered wood floor is normally 1 16 to 1 8 inches hence light sanding can clean any scratch shallower than this.

Other waxes are sold as blocks. Some waxes come in a stick shaped similar to a crayon or marker. Engineered hardwood floors are more durable than a traditional wood floor but they can still get scratched. If you have an engineered wood floor with a real wood surface make sure the real wood surface is more than 1mm thick sanding usually takes at least this much wood off the surface so a thicker layer is required for a complete sanding.
