For tough stains let the vinegar sit on the stain for a few minutes before gently rubbing at the slime with the rag. Let the detergent soak over the area for 20 30 minutes. Spray a small amount of wd 40 product to the area of your putty stain and allow it to absorb into your carpet for at least 30 seconds. Smaller ones could be removed later.

Blot the carpet stain and any remaining silly putt. The vinegar will work to dissolve the slime so that you can wipe it off the carpet.
