Mortar is a cement based paste that is used for binding building materials like bricks tiles and stones.
Removing brick from concrete floor.
One tip would be to start at one corner and break up a brick then chip away the subsequent bricks in the direction of the empty space.
I show you the tools you will need and then take you through this br.
Lift the brick and discard.
Apply pressure to the pry bar until the brick pulls free from the floor.
However this method leaves the harder cementitious mortar in place around the brick which can be rather difficult to chisel away once the field brick is removed.
This may take some effort.
One method involves drilling a series of holes in the relatively soft clay of the brick then chiseling the brick out in pieces.
Do not remove the putty knife until the pry bar is firmly in place under the brick.
And it s great for creating durable surfaces.
Removing mortar from concrete slab floor can be tricky.
Wedge the pry bar in underneath the putty knife.
That way rather than having to reduce the bricks to dust you should be able to pop them out whole.
Yet when you need to remove it it can be a nightmare.
Slip a pry bar under the putty knife and pull out the putty knife.
But if you pull up old tiles it may be something you will have to contend with.
I should warn you that you might find a slab underneath the bricks and that will require some different tactics.
